New Grade-Level Colors!

Families, please be aware that we have altered our class colors and rotation.  In order to establish a more cohesive school spirit, we have changed our class colors to only include our school colors: green, yellow, and white.  Additionally, as students promote to different grade levels, their colors will change from year to year.  See below for colors by grade level:

Kindergarten, Third, and Sixth Grades: White

First Grade, Fourth, and Seventh Grades: Yellow

Second, Fifth, and Eighth Grades: Green

Important Message Regarding Student Safety

Dear Washington Unified Families,

We want to make you aware of an incident that occurred this morning off campus, near the corner of Todhunter Street and Carrie Street in West Sacramento. Two adults, were involved in an altercation which resulted in an assault with one adult fleeing the scene on foot.

The incident was reported to the West Sacramento Police Department immediately who are now handling the situation and attempting to find the individual.

As a precautionary measure and due to the their proximity to the scene of the incident, Riverbank Elementary and the Bryte Career and College Training campuses were placed on lockdown procedures for approximately 30 minutes. The Police Department concluded that there is no credible threat to the campuses and the lockdown has since been lifted.

No students or staff were anywhere near the incident when this happened as it took place off campus. We are aware of some inaccurate information being circulated online regarding the safety of other schools—please be assured that there is no credible threat to any of our schools. Should you have any questions please contact your school’s main office and as always, we will continue to keep you updated if anything changes.

If you witness any suspicious activity in your neighborhood or around your school, please contact the West Sacramento Police Department at 916-372-3375 or dial 9-1-1 in case of an emergency.

Thank you for your understanding.
